He said it is now about 25 languages but this growth is being driven by those that are being taught in schools and colleges, particularly in the public sector.

Mr Howard hajarvees.coms said it could be in the region of 90 languages in 10 years, and says more than 50 per cent of the world’s languages are spoken today.

But the government is also looking at the cost of keeping languages on government work-plan and if it could go further.

Mr Howard said in a recent speech at the annual Conference for Indian Langu바카라사이트ages in India he outlined the current funding package for many languages, from $11bn for Tamil in 2001 to $32bn in 2014, for a total of $100bn.
